Role Summary:
We are seeking a Journeyman HVAC Technician for a 14/14 FIFO rotation from Calgary or Edmonton starting September 9th 2026. The HVAC Technician supports the delivery of safe, high-quality work with a strong focus on client satisfaction, attention to detail, and operational excellence. This role contributes to reliable results that meet and exceed client expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsibilities include the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems at a SAGD facility, including office buildings and process plant units
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC equipment and systems
- Troubleshoot and repair heating, cooling, ventilation, and control system issues
- Conduct inspections and testing to ensure equipment reliability and efficiency
- Complete work orders, maintenance records, and safety documentation accurately
- Follow all site safety procedures, regulations, and company standards
- Collaborate with site personnel to support safe and efficient operations
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Participate in shutdowns, turnarounds, and other maintenance activities as required
- Perform all work in compliance with company values, Health & Safety standards, and OHS regulations
- Other duties as required
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Journeyperson HVAC/Refrigeration Technician (Red Seal preferred)
- Gas Fitting ticket and asset
- Valid H2S Alive, Fall Protection, Confined Space, Standard First Aid, CSTS 2020, AWP/EMP
- Experience maintaining and troubleshooting commercial and industrial HVAC systems in oil sands, SAGD, gas plant, or other industrial environments.
- Experience or familiarity with power plants, gas plants, or industrial facilities.
- Strong understanding of HVAC controls, building automation systems (BAS), heating systems, air handling units, and refrigeration equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Able to use test and calibration equipment and common hand tools.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently
- Strong communication, teamwork, initiative, and safety awareness.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driver's abstract.
- Physically capable of working in industrial environments, including climbing ladders, lifting equipment, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Flexible availability for shift work, overtime, and call outs, with a strong focus on safety and self-direction.
- Must be able to pass a pre-access Drug & Alcohol test and fit-for-duty requirements.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive hourly wage ranging from $57.75 -65.25, to commensurate with experience and certification
- Overtime opportunities paid at 1.5x the regular hourly rate
